When to leave Nai Harn for your flight
A common rule of thumb is to be at the airport about 3 hours before an international flight. This is general advice, not a service promise. Add the 1 hour 10 minutes on the road and you need to be in the car about 4 hours 10 minutes before take-off, before any margin for traffic.
A few examples for an international flight, with a 20-minute cushion included:
- Flight at 12:00: pick-up around 07:30.
- Flight at 18:00: pick-up around 13:30.
- Flight at 06:00: pick-up around 01:30. The service runs 24/7, so this is normal.
For a domestic flight, check the airline's own advice on check-in and allow a shorter, but still generous, margin. You agree the exact pick-up time when you book.
How the pick-up works in Nai Harn
When you book, give the name of your hotel or villa, a map pin and your flight time. The driver arrives at the hotel at the agreed time. Be at the door with your bags a few minutes early.
The pin matters here. Nai Harn has the beach on one side of a road and a lake on the other, and many places sit up the hillsides around the bay. "Near the beach" can mean several different streets, while a pin is exact. If you are leaving from a villa on a steep or narrow lane, say so in the booking.
The drive back across the island
The airport is at the northern end of Phuket and you start from the far south, so the road runs up the island. The driver joins Highway 402 and follows it north, passing the Heroines Monument roundabout in Thalang near the end. The car stops at the departures hall of your terminal, close to check-in.
Count on about 1 hour 10 minutes in normal traffic. Rain, a busy afternoon or the holiday weeks can add to it, which is why the leaving times above carry a cushion. There is more on timing on the distance page.
Check-out, bags and the last morning
Tell the hotel the night before that you are leaving early, and ask whether breakfast, the final bill and the key return can be handled in advance. If your flight is in the evening, ask whether the hotel can keep your bags after check-out, and agree the pick-up time with that in mind.
Pack the passports and the booking confirmation where you can reach them.
Which car for the way home
Bags usually come back fuller than they left, so count them again before you choose.

Trips on 24 December to 5 January carry a holiday surcharge of 400 THB per car. Arrival meeting points such as Gate 2 and Gate A belong to the other direction. On the way out you are dropped at departures.
